Treatment for Adults

What to Expect

We specialize in using evidence-based treatments for anxiety and OCD. Evidence-based treatments have been researched and tested in large clinical studies and shown to be effective for the majority of people. Because we are specialists in treating anxiety, OCD, and related conditions, we stay up to date on the most current research and treatment techniques so you get the best results. Treatment will generally focus on the three primary areas of anxiety:

  • How you Physically Feel
  • Your Thoughts, Beliefs, and Experiences
  • Your Behavior and Actions

Treatment can help you uncover the underlying causes of your worries and fears; learn how to relax; look at situations in new, less frightening ways; and develop better coping and problem-solving skills. Your therapist will work collaboratively with you to give you the tools to overcome anxiety and teach you how to use them. Research shows that CBT works for the vast majority of people, with long term gains. Benefits are usually seen in 12 to 16 weeks, depending on the individual.

Where do I start?

We are happy to speak with you to answer any questions and help you determine if treatment is right for you. Please call us for a free 15-minute phone consultation (or email us if you prefer). We offer treatment for children, teens, adults, seniors and families.

What will my treatments be like?

Treatment begins with an initial evaluation with one of our directors. This appointment will help identify the specific nature of your concerns, determine how we can best help, and match you with a clinician who is the best fit for you. Our clinicians are all highly-trained licensed psychologists who have specialized training in the treatment of anxiety and are compassionate and understanding of the difficulties clients face. You and your therapist will discuss your goals and develop a plan that is personalized to your individual needs.

We offer individual outpatient therapy, intensive outpatient therapy, group therapy, and free support groups. We specialize in using evidence-based Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and, when appropriate, gradual Exposure and Response Prevention (E/RP). Other treatment modalities can also be used depending on a client’s goals.
