Dr. Kasmen specializes in providing evidence-based Cognitive-Behavioral therapy (CBT) interventions, including Exposure/Response Prevention (E/RP), Habit Reversal Training, ComB for BFRBs, CBIT for tics, behavioral activation, ACT, DBT, and SPACE (supportive parenting for anxious childhood emotions), to children beginning at 4-years of age, teens, young adults and families affected by anxiety, OCD and related concerns. 

Dr. Kasmen has extensive experience treating the full-range of anxiety disorders across the age span, including severe/complicated OCD (and PANS/PANDAS), Generalized Anxiety Disorder, adjustment disorders, panic disorder, separation anxiety, shyness/social anxiety, stress management, and specific phobias. Dr. Kasmen also treats ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorders, behavioral issues, school avoidance, sleep problems, tics, and body-focused repetitive disorders (e.g., compulsive hairpulling/skin-picking). 

In addition to individual treatment, Dr. Kasmen enjoys working with parents and families around these concerns. She has also written numerous articles and presents regularly to consumers and professionals on anxiety and related topics.

She trains psychologists and other professionals in the use of CBT and E/RP. Dr. Kasmen has also served as the Anxiety Consultant to the School District of Haverford Township. 

Personable, warm and engaging, Dr. Kasmen values making therapy a comfortable and positive experience for kids, teens and their families, with a treatment plan tailored to each individual’s unique needs. 

Dr. Kasmen holds an Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology (APIT) license and is able to see patients in PSYPACT 42 participating states via teletherapy. 

EDUCATION & TRAINING

An expert in the field with over 25-years of experience, Dr. Kasmen trained under nationally-recognized OCD expert, Dr. Jonathan Grayson. Dr. Kasmen is a graduate of Emory University where she was elected Phi Beta Kappa. She received her master’s and doctoral degrees from the Georgia School of Professional Psychology. She completed a pre-doctoral internship at DuPont Hospital for Children (Nemours).

Dr. Kasmen was awarded a grant by the Nemours foundation to further her training through completion of a three-year post-doctoral fellowship at DuPont, with a focus in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), neuropsychological evaluation, and psychological treatment of children with medical illnesses.
