Linda B. Welsh, Ed.D.
Founder/Director of Adult Services
Dr. Welsh specializes in the treatment of agoraphobia and anxiety disorders. In addition to treating the range of anxiety disorders, she also provides general psychotherapy to individuals around life difficulties, work-related stress, grief and chronic illness. She also works with couples navigating relationship challenges and parenting concerns. Dr. Welsh is trained in a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, EMDR, Ericksonian Hypnosis, PTSD treatment, and grief counseling.
Dr. Welsh combines these methods to create customized therapy plans tailored to each client’s needs— ensuring maximum effectiveness. In addition to her clinical work, she frequently lectures at local hospitals, medical schools, and community centers— focusing on stress management and communication skills.
Dr. Welsh is also the author of Chronic Illness and the Family: A Guide to Living Every Day, which explores the emotional toll of illness on both patients and their families. As part of her practice, she personally evaluates most new adult clients to ensure they are paired with the therapist best suited to their needs.
EDUCATION & TRAINING
Dr. Welsh received her undergraduate degree from the University of Hartford. She holds a Master’s in Education from Duquesne University and her doctoral degree from Temple University.
